What do you mean "Obama's Legacy"?

There has been much reflection regarding President Obama's legacy in the final days of his presidency.  While the biased media celebrates his legacy and anoints him as the progressive savior of hope and change, the reality is that Mr. Obama was at best an under-achieving president, and possibly one of the worst ever.

There is one--and only one--piece of evidence that beautifully supports this claim:  his "leadership" has led to his party losing 1,042 state legislature seats, 12 state governors, 69 house seats, and 13 senate seats.  The Republican Party (GOP) is more powerful than ever today.  If current trends continue, the 2018 midterm elections will lead to the GOP occupying enough House seats to make Constitutional changes in Congress the old-fashioned way.

Mr. Obama's campaign promised the most transparent administration ever back in 2008.  He preached to his supporters that sweeping reform to dramatically increase government accountability will come.  Obama, an Illinois senator at the time, presented campaign literature that promised this type of long-overdue government accountability, and cited his Senatorial record of fighting for ethics and lobbying reform.  At the time, he was in fact the Trump-like "outsider", for lack of a better term, that took Middle America by storm.  He was viewed as anything but an establishment political insider (i.e. Secretary Clinton).  Despite his commitment to transparency, Obama went after whistleblowers.  Hard.  These individuals have either exercised their right of asylum overseas or been prosecuted by Mr. Obama's justice department.

Mr. Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 during the first year of his presidency.  The award was confusing to say the least--to both parties.  Since he became a Nobel laureate, Obama has dropped drone bombs at a rate of one every twenty minutes.  In 2016 alone, this administration dropped 26,171 bombs.  Pakistani sources claim that for every terrorist killed via drone strikes, 50 civilians are killed (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilian_casualties_from_US_drone_strikes).

Mr. Obama's promise to close Gitmo (Guantanamo Bay prison) in 2008 is still unfulfilled.

Mr. Obama spent countless dollars on the health care plan that is about to be dismantled by Congress.  Experts and analysts have forecasted this since day one.

Mr. Obama's Wall Street reform froze lending and has halted recovery.  The stimulus money did not magically appear.  Cherry picking data to support this administration's claims of economic excellence is Public Relations 101.  The reality is that the national debt has nearly doubled to $20 trillion, young graduates are in unprecedented loan debt, food stamps and welfare are at all-time highs, home ownership is at an all-time low.  Median family income has dropped over the last eight years, and income inequality is more of a problem now than it was in 2008. And, most importantly--labor force participation is plummeting.  A huge number of the jobs Mr. Obama takes credit for during his speeches are part-time positions created because of the full-time jobs getting terminated after the health care reform.

Mr. Obama entrusted the country's foreign policy to Hillary Clinton and encouraged the 2010-2012 Arab Spring.  The Middle East is just as disastrous as it was when he took office, and ISIS has gained arms, land, and manpower during Clinton and Obama's watch.

Mr. Obama's "Russian Reset" has led to heightened political tension with Russia and the rise of Putin.

Mr. Obama campaigned for Chicago's 2016 Olympic bid.  Failed.  Mr. Obama campaigned against the UK exiting the EU.  Failed.  Mr. Obama campaigned for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 general election campaign season.  Failed.

Mr. Obama's America has seen racial relations sink to lows we have not seen in decades. He can claim racial relations have improved, but the fact is that he only publicly comments on certain crime demographics.  Major cities such as Baltimore and Saint Louis have burned because of racial tension.  Police officers have been slain in broad daylight by terrorists claiming to be "activists".  We all like to think we would take a bullet for our loved ones.  The police do it every day for strangers.

Hard-working people in the flyover states no longer identify with the Democratic party.  The Republicans, once a party of "rich businessmen", again resonate with working class America, regardless of color.  The middle class in our country gave him the ultimate rebuke by not only electing a Republican, but electing the opposite of the progressive and left-of-left Obama political machine. 

Finally, Mr. Obama claiming over and over recently that his administration had no scandals and no terrorist attacks on U.S. soil in the previous eight years is the type of smug nonsense that made moderates lean right instead of left in November.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership. Benghazi. The fine print in the Iran Deal. The missing State Department money. The ATF gunwalking scandal (Operation Fast and Furious).  One attorney general being held in contempt of Congress (first ever) and the next attorney general pleading the fifth under oath in front of the Oversight Committee (also a first).  These are just a few of the botched events that the media and the left ignore after they leave the news cycle.

In about 72 hours, Donald Trump will be Barack Obama's president, and his legacy will begin to vanish before his very eyes.
