Are humans as a species, the worst?

Human Prejudice – Educated or Not?

It is sad that mean spirited prejudices based on religion, color, education, social stature or race have not really reduced over the course of human civilization. Even in the 21st Century, in a progressive country like USA, deep rooted prejudices are still strongly embedded. Facts or personal experiences to the contrary does not help move the needle.

Between different groups the feeling of superiority are very strongly embedded. Desire to learn and educate one selves based on facts and personal experiences is very limited. Sadly, there is limited pollination between social groups. Well educated upper middle class and blue collar are equally reluctant to change long held prejudices.

• Upper middle class well educated whites hold strong prejudices against blue collar workers.
• Blue collar / rural whites lack of faith in educated whites protecting their way of life.
• Blue collar working whites hold negative views on ethnic groups especially when it comes to their children’s future.
• African Americans belief in centuries of discrimination with the justifiable feeling of deserved payback.
• African Americans success stories make limited commitment by moving out of community they grew up in upon achieving success.
• Asian immigrants feel a cultural superiority over the new nation that is America.
• Muslim immigrants / refugees feel a superiority even when they come from failed states. Root cause analysis of their failed states not analyzed.
• Even after collapse of Soviet Empire the only Super Power USA, did not rise to the challenge by becoming a role model. In fact, we regressed.

I am really worried about human civilization. God is great but religion is terrible. Sadly, if God is looking down on us there is limited reason for God to believe in us – better for God to experiment with another species. God tried the dinosaurs for much longer than humans – which we in our egotistical conceit seem to forget.

Humility for humankind in the ecosystem would be a good start but sadly I do not believe that is possible. As a species we really are the worst.
