Mirror effect - workout

You've seen those people at the gym looking at themselves in the mirror, flexing, pumping weights... checking themselves out? Did you think - show offs, so into themselves, full of it....? Well I did! I judged without really knowing that there are so many benefits of looking at yourself while working out. Now don't get me wrong there are those that can be a little into themselves.

Until I started strength training and lifting, I obviously didn't get it. There are so many benefits of facing the mirror while you train.

Posture/Form
While working out, form is key, even more than reps, the weight you are lifting, time worked and sets. How you are bending on the knees, straightening or arching your back, controlling your movements, are crucial to getting a good workout, not causing muscle damage or hurting yourself.

Mirror effect: Visually looking at yourself while training can help you immediately correct these mistakes so you get better results and stay injury free.

Engaging Muscles
Mind to muscle connection can produce great results. This happens when you get your brain to think and concentrate on the muscle or muscles you are working on. It takes time to manage and perfect this technique.

Mirror effect: But when you are looking in the mirror while lifting and see your muscles expand and contract it helps activate that connection as it keeps in the forefront what you are working on.

Progress/Motivation
Seeing results is the best motivation to push yourself harder and stay motivated.

Mirror Effect: Mirror mirror on the wall... I think this one is obvious.
