Republicans - Stupid or Racist?
As a longtime supporter of the Democratic party would like to broadcast that Republicans are not Stupid or Racist; definitely not more than any other group or people in a civil society.
The tendency of many Democrats to place people of opposing view into the bracket of stupidity is comforting, but self-defeating. It makes it very hard for Democrats to win hearts and minds of conservative minded Independents. And of course that makes it impossible to change views of moderate Republicans needed to win especially in the ‘Red states. Without large independents and moderate republican backing, even if Mrs. Clinton wins, she will not really have a mandate for change.
So why are sensible Republicans and Conservative independent’s backing Trump.
Trump, looking at his best, is a candidate from the privilege class he rants against and a fixture for 30 years in the establishment. He has zero governing experience and has not profitably run a corporation over a long period, which requires administrative foresight and vision – essential for a US president.
Trump of course is great at making money for himself and his family.
So again, why the support among conservatives whose religious or fiscal principles Trump has never supported!
Recently a smart elderly republican lady was asked on TV as to why she supported Trump. Her comment sums it up as to paraphrase she stated “……….am voting for the ticket. I know our current ticket leader maybe a jackass but will still support the ticket……………….”
Is that the correct approach when you vote for a Presidential candidate! Am not sure but one reason why you would support even Trump is selection of Supreme Court Justices. This presidential election carries huge implications for court now divided evenly.
A democratic victory could lead to its first liberal majority since the Vietnam era. Victory by Trump could advance conservative control for decades to come.
