America, President Elect Trump and US in Twilight Zone
Two things to remember today, firstly, Donald Trump ran a brilliant campaign and understood what is needed to win the Presidency & secondly, America will move on and continue to be great.
I totally missed the support Trump could generate. I assumed that the Republican base will vote for him. But as he had limited RNC establishment support assumed turnout among the base would be poor. That did not happen as when the base came to vote for the ticket and local candidates, they clicked the box that said Republican. That is proven by the fact that the democratic party candidates did not get any gains in the house or senate and other local elected offices.
Trump manipulated the media and talking heads and got close to 70%+ media coverage from the snug talking heads – all TV channels no exception.
Before we listen to the same stupid talking heads again, please remember that 50% of the electorate voted Democratic and 50% voted Republican. Trump’s victory was not a decisive victory! Listening to the talking heads today, they are talking like 80% of America voted for Trump”
The Clinton’s ran a poor campaign based on pre-concept that Hilary cannot lose. They did not emotionally connect with common people. Hillary's speech today was wonderful and is what was needed during the campaign. Hilary projected no clear vision of her own, other than continuing the Obama administration. Well the American people were not looking to elect Obama to third term!
The democratic base did a bad job of bringing out the base. 50 million Americans wanted a change – essentially any change. Let us hope these 50 million Americans know something the rest of us missed.
Also, be careful that we do not blame friends and family who voted for Trump. The blame is purely with the leaders of the democratic party who failed in projecting a bright vision for the future.
"American democracy and people will move forward. God bless America and the people – who are our friends, neighbors and daily acquaintances."
